Recent Activities to Held at Discovery Bay
New Fleet of "Cars"
Discovery Bay Golf Club will launch a brand-new fleet of 20 Yamaha golf cars on Saturday, April 15, 2017. These cars gas-powered, EFI [electronic fuel injection] quiet tech golf cars. There are also 4 special cars for hardy golfers to play in inclement whether.
“They are white [or Glacier in corporate speak]. And we have four covered cars that we can use in the wintertime or on less-than-ideal summer days that have doors and coverings.” Discovery Bay head pro Jeff Kent said.
According to Kent, these Yamaha golf carts are fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly. And the golf club did a careful research in selecting the new golf carts: They have compared Yamaha with E-Z-Go; they asked [Bremerton’s] Gold Mountain Golf Club who thought Yamaha saved half the gas as their former E-Z-Go carts.
Ludlow Golf Clinics
Saturday morning clinics will be opening on the course at 9:30 a.m. every other Saturday. The clinics if offered by Port Ludlow assistant pro Chis Holloway.
Each session will have a different focus, from golf course strategy to putting to long game. The sessions are limited to six players, $10 for each person. Participants don’t have to worry about the skill level, since the clinics are open to all.
The clinics will run through June 10, and the next session is on Saturday, April 22.
Night Golf on Thursdays
Discovery Bay’s Thursday Night League is made up of four-person teams, with a substitute player or two on each squad. Players will switch nine each week. The league is expected to run through the end of August.
$300 will be charged per team, including first and second-half payouts, an end-of-year barbecue and more. And each week there will be an nine-hole green fee, which will be $11 at the beginning and $12 for summer fares.
Besides, An optional contest will cost $5 for each week.
Discovery Bay Golf Club is well located, keeping from the sun setting over the bay. Moreover, the course is drying nicely and the greens are fast and true. The golf players can really enjoys a calm and relaxed experience at the course.
The Night League will start on Thursday, May 4. Golfers should arrive by 5:30 p.m. on that day. A meeting and preseason scramble will be arrange at the beginning. League details will be announced at that meeting, including whether or not the start time will be 5 p.m. or 5:30 p.m. each week.
Night League is currently accepting registrations.
