The reducer is a power regulating device, designed for converting high voltage to low voltage. Why is it so important? Because all electric golf car accessories can only run 12V. If you have a 48V or 36V golf cart , if you do not install or correct connection step-down transformer,  excessive voltage applied,the LED lights blow. If you intend to use lights or electrical accessories on the golf cart, you must connect the reducer correctly. Even the most basic voltage reducer can also do this, 16,18,36 or 48 volts down to 12.
