I have purchased a 48v 2007 XRT 800E with 4 12v Trojan batteries that are 3 years old. They seem to run strong so far and charged nicely. This cart came with a Powerdrive 2 charger. 

I plan to leave this cart at my cabin and have questions on how I should leave the cart. It might be a month or more between visits.

According to the charger manual I should leave the cart always hooked up to the charger and the charger will turn on and off as needed and maintain the batteries at full charge. Is this correct if the cart is not run regularly?

This cart also has a tow/ run switch. On the switch it states that if the cart is stored, the switch should be in the tow position. Should I put it in the tow position when I leave? If yes, will it charge like that hooked up to the Powerdrive 2 charger.

Any other comments or suggestions are welcomed.
