I'll start from the beginning 
while standing at back of cart looking at the motor the wire on the left post melted off..to get home i clamped wire to the post with vicegrips got home stoped went to go again vicegrips came off tuched post on right there was a little burn on vicegrips..reconnected went fowarded only stopped would not move...when pedel pressed full axel made a thumping sound ( like it wanted to go) the post on right side motor turned red hot in about 2 seconds...replaced with new motor...with cart jacked up still get thumping sound and wheel goes forward barley moving...does the same in reverse( wheel wants to go forward) ...load tested each battery while full gas and thumping each had about 5.7 volts..micro switches on f/r tested fine...i kept spining wleel while pedal in full finly took off fast ..stoped pushed pedal again turned slow like befor...did i blow something out when i shorted motor? what are your thoughts ? due to MS my golf cart is my legs i use it every day any help is greatly needed !!
