I have just inherited a 2001 Club Car 48 (6 8 volt batteries)volt. The cart has been layer up for about 2 years. I started to dig into it today. I filled all batteries up with distilled water and put them on a 12 volt 2 amp charge for 45 minutes each. 4 of the batteries came up and seem to be ok. One of the batteries would not take any charge at all. The second one only came up to 3 volts. With everything connected back up I am getting 26 volts from main ground to main hot. The cart will not do anything except ring the revere buzzer when put into reverse. I have downloaded the severe manual tonight and will dig deeper into the unit over the next few days. My question is do I need to replace the two bad batteries now to get the cart to move/to further my diagnostics? Does the controller need a minimum amount of voltage to turn on? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
